Hourglass Gloves, circa 1390
Our recreations of late medieval hourglass gloves, suitable for exhibition combat, are very artfully handcrafted. Similar gloves can be seen in the original at Churburg Castle, South Tyrol and were probably made by a Milanese blacksmith around 1390.
They are not only characterized by the fine workmanship and authentic appearance, but also impress with their very good wearing comfort, because all finger joints are freely movable and a soft leather glove is completely sewn inside.
Gauntlets are suitable for exhibition combat. They are made of steel approximately 1.6mm thick. In addition, the steel parts are artfully decorated and reinforced with brass sheet.
The inner gloves are made of light-colored leather, so contamination from lightly oiled steel parts is possible in certain circumstances.
Overall, an almost perfect replica of the gunsmith's art of the late Middle Ages.
