Small Viking Sax Knife with Old Norse Style Bone/Brass Handle
This small Viking Age utility knife (also called a broken-back sax because of its special blade shape) has a hand-forged short blade made of carbon steel with a solid back. The polished bone handle, decorated on both sides with beautiful Nordic engravings, is a real eye-catcher. Towards the blade it closes with a brass ferrule, and at the other end the handle cap, also made of brass, has a practical eyelet with a large brass ring to hold a carrying strap or to easily remove the knife of the sheath. (strap not included).
The Viking Age short saxophone comes with a sturdy and artfully decorated scabbard made of vegetable-tanned leather with handcrafted knot designs in Nordic style. Brass fittings with an antique finish - rivets, a reinforcement plate and two elegant suspension rings in the form of winding snakes - visually complement the sheath in a beautiful way.
Although the knife is fully functional, the edge has been left dull. If necessary, it should be sharpened for daily use. Please note, however, that this Viking knife is primarily intended as a collectible or decorative item. The tip of the blade is not rounded and is not suitable for exhibition fighting!
