Tormek SVD-186 R – Gouge Jig for turning tools

The Tormek SVD-186 R is the current jig for precise and repeatable sharpening of woodturning gouges and many tools with complex shapes.

• Suitable tools: turning gouges, curved or bent carving gouges, V-gouges and carbide woodturning cutters.
• Repeatability: settings can be reproduced precisely with the TTS-100 Turning Tool Setter.
• Rotation lock: the SVD-186 R has a locking knob that can stop the jig’s rotational movement, giving greater control when sharpening tools such as V-gouges.
• Flat bevel sharpening: together with the MB-102 Multi Base and Tormek diamond wheels, the lock also makes it possible to sharpen luthier knives with a completely flat bevel.
• Woodturning cutters: a supplied special shaft accepts cutters of various shapes for controlled sharpening.
• Compatibility: Tormek T-4, T-8 and older models. Machines from 2001 or earlier can be fitted with an XB-100 Horizontal Base for edge-trailing sharpening.

The jig includes the PP-10 Profile Pen and PL-01 Profile Labels to help record and reproduce sharpening settings.
