Tormek MB-102 Multi Base

The Tormek MB-102 Multi Base lets you sharpen on the flat side of Tormek diamond wheels to create a completely flat bevel. It can also convert the machine’s horizontal mounts into a frontal vertical mounting position, improving access for selected knife-sharpening setups and guided honing with knife jigs.

Applications

• Sharpen a flat bevel on the side of a diamond wheel.
• Useful for luthier knives, Kiridashi knives, V-tools, carving knives, Japanese planes and other tools where a flat bevel is preferred.
• Frontal vertical mounting of the Universal Support for easier access when sharpening edge trailing.
• Guided honing with knife jigs in suitable configurations.

Important: Tormek recommends side sharpening with the MB-102 only on its diamond wheels. Conventional grindstones wear and require truing, which cannot be performed on their sides.

Compatibility

Compatible with Tormek T-8, Tormek T-4 and older models. The MB-102 works with jigs including KJ-45, KJ-140, SVM-00, SE-77, SVS-38, SVD-186 R, SVS-50 and SVD-110.
