The stainless steel of OPINEL blades is an optimized grade to guarantee both high resistance to corrosion and high mechanical performance.

The blade offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear) which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before requiring resharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no special maintenance under ordinary use conditions, unlike carbon steel. However, it may encounter its limits when placed in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.).

The charm comes from French farms. It is a white wood with little grain, ideal for applying colors without distorting them. The handle is varnished to be better protected against humidity and dirt.
