Description
Stainless Steel 12C27M Sandvik
Sandvik's modified 12C27 stainless steel developed Opinel is known for its edge and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of not less than 0.4% which allows to obtain a very satisfactory edge without being sensitive to corrosion. Hardness of the blade 57-58 HRC.
Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring equips all the fermant knives from N°06. Cut into stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to blocking the blade in open position (use security), it is now possible to lock the blade in closed position (transport security).
