Anduril, the sword of King Elessar

An original Lord of the Rings sword by United Cutlery

Anduril is the sword of King Elessar of Gondor. Under the name Narsil, it was destroyed during the last great alliance against Sauron. The Shards of Narsil were guarded for 3000 years by the Elves in Rivendell and forged again to assist Aragorn in the last battle of men.

It is richly decorated with elven runes. The inscription in the Quenya language - in the runes of Eregion - on the blade says: Nányë Andúril i née Narsil i macil Elendilo. Lercuvanten i máli Mordórëo and translated means I am Anduril, formerly Narsil, sword of Elendil. Let me free the slaves of Mordor. Aragorn also gave the sword the nickname the Flame of the West.
