The Duku Chandong or sometimes called the “Ray Mears” parang originates from East Malaysia or as some call it, Borneo. This is a very common blade shape there. The Duku Chandong is a general purpose parang and it is very common to see people in Borneo using it in their daily lives.
General description
‐ 5160 high carbon steel blade
‐ Hand hardened edge 55‐60 HRC
- Traditional and proven tips - Tail Tang Construction
‐ Eco Beech wooden handle with finish
‐ The tenons are pinned using a 2.5mm brass pin under the collar
‐ Handmade in Malaysia
‐ Ballistic nylon sheath and 2mm hard PE panel with fixing straps
