The Lord of the Rings - Glamdring, Gandalf's sword
Officially licensed movie replica of The Lord of the Rings, by United Cutlery
With more than 100 million copies sold, the Lord of the Rings saga, translated into more than 40 languages, has accompanied millions of people. This cult epic is already considered by millions to be the greatest fantasy adventure ever told. JRR Tolkien's powerful epic trilogy depicts the struggle between good and evil for possession of a magical ring. Voted the most popular book of the 20th century, the trilogy of novels was adapted and produced as a multi-part feature film by New Line Cinema.
The word Glamdring comes from the Elvish language Sindarin and means something like enemy hammer (engl. enemy-hammer). The history of this magical sword, whose blade emits a pale light when orcs are nearby, is mysterious. Gandalf the Wizard found it (as did Bilbo Baggins his sword Sting) in the troll caves of Rhûdaur, after the trolls had been trapped in stone. In Rivendell, Elrond deciphered the runic inscription indicating that it had been forged for Turgon, king of Gondolin. This great sword remained at Gandalf's side until his last day in Middle-earth.
This authentic and detailed collectible is an officially licensed replica of the film prop from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. United Cutlery, the industry leader in manufacturing movie reproductions, has meticulously recreated the original sword using the finest, highest quality materials. The top priority was the exact reproduction of all details.
With a total length of approximately 121 cm, the beautiful sword has a blade made of hardened 420 stainless steel. The crosspiece and pommel are made of solid metal and the handle is wrapped in genuine leather. A decorative wall plaque and certificate of authenticity are included.
