Description
The paring knife is a compact kitchen knife particularly suited to chopping vegetables, mushrooms, garlic and herbs. Its short, pointed blade also makes it useful for peeling fruit and vegetables.
The KAI Seki Magoroku Composite series includes eight different blade shapes. The knives combine VG-MAX steel and SUS42012 steel, creating a distinctive contrast on the blade. The two steels are joined by a special copper brazing process, leaving a fine copper line visible as a design detail. This construction is intended to provide strength and precision.
The handle is made from light-coloured pakkawood. Its cross-grain and slim, tapered shape give the knife a light, refined appearance. The KAI Seki Magoroku Composite received a Red Dot Design Award in 2013.
