Description

In Japan, the crane is a symbol of happiness and longevity. According to an ancient Japanese legend, whoever folds 1,000 origami cranes gets a wish granted by the gods.

The katana has a hand forged carbon steel blade with a fine hamon and has been traditionally tempered. The tsuba of this remarkable sword features a crane that surrounds the sword. The sharp blade features a hi (fuller) to reduce overall weight. The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, covered with real fish skin and has two menukis. Additionally, it is traditionally wrapped in brown cotton. The silk is particularly long and fixed with two bamboo pegs (mekugi). The sheath (saya) is made of wood and the blade collar (habaki) is made of brass. The sword comes with a certificate of origin, wrapped in fabric and packaged in a high quality box. All measurements are subject to estimation.
