John Lee Red Wood Iaito, long
Masterpiece of Asian blacksmithing
- The blades of the swords are hand forged from 420 stainless steel.
- The blades are blunt, have a rounded blade tip and have a fuller (Bo-Hi) to reduce weight.
- The handles (tsuka) are made of wood, covered with real ray skin (ditto).
- Handle wraps (tsuka-ito) are traditionally made of black cotton.
- Two menukis are inlaid on the handles.
- Sword fishing rods are particularly long and attached to the handle with 2 bamboo pins (Mekugi).
- The sheaths (Saya) are made of wood, discreetly varnished, so that the beautiful grain of the wood remains visible.
- Manufactured according to historical models
Details:
- Length from the blade to the tsuba approximately 75.5 cm
- Total length without sheath approximately 107.5 cm
- Handle length approximately 30.5 cm
- Weight without sheath approximately 1150 g
