Description
Satre is a pocket fixed blade knife, light and extremely resistant. Given its features, it can be used in a wide variety of activities and areas, including survival and bushcraft, or it can be part of an EDC (Every Day Carry) kit.
It was designed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, Master Advanced F.I.S.S.S. instructor (Italian Sports and Experimental Survival Federation).
It can be worn as a neck knife thanks to its Paracord 550 strap. In this way, it is possible to keep it vertical with the handle down. The preformed Kydex sheath has eyelets, allowing both the lanyard and the accessory holder to be applied.
Satre is available in three versions with two different types of steel: The Black and Stone Washed versions are made with Böhler N690 steel heat treated to 58 HRC. This material was chosen for its resistance to oxidation, for the durability of its cutting edge and above all for its reliability which has proven itself over the years. The Black S600 is made with Böhler S600 steel instead.
This steel is used for the manufacture of ironwork tools and the creation of stampings.
It has excellent qualities in terms of hardness, wear resistance and toughness thanks to the presence of molybdenum, tungsten and a significant addition of vanadium to its chemical composition.
The presence of cobalt stimulates the growth of small, evenly distributed carbides, which improves wear resistance. Satre S600 is heat and cryogenically treated to achieve an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC.
This also makes it very hard-wearing and gives the cutting edge a long-lasting sharpness. The Böhler S600 contains 4.5% chromium, which makes it oxidizable.
For this reason, Extrema Ratio has chosen the new EXP DARK finish. For its extreme hardness and resistance to wear and abrasion, this steel is not easy to sharpen.
