Dawson Knives recently began using CPM MagnaCut as a steel upgrade. MagnaCut is the new superstar among CPM stainless steels because it has similar toughness and edge retention to the best non-stainless steels CPM-CruWear and CPM-4V. Unlike these, it even exceeds the CPM 20CV in corrosion resistance and is just below the exceptional rust resistance of the Vanax or LC200N. The carbide structure of MagnaCut is much finer than that of most stainless steels produced by powder metallurgy, meaning that an unusually high level of sharpness can be achieved.
