The CRKT Tuna Compact is a super practical EDC pocket knife. It's the little brother of the original CRKT Tuna, designed by Lucas Burnley. You can tell by its shape: this knife is built for speed. He's ready to pounce! Just like the bluefin tuna, from which its name is inspired. One of the most powerful predatory fish in the sea is here a source of inspiration for a work knife intended for everyday use.
The CRKT Tuna Compact is perfect for all kinds of different tasks. From opening packages to peeling an apple, it's a handy knife in a toolbox and a faithful companion on walks and hikes. You open the Tuna blade using the thumb rest. The blade opens smoothly and when in the open position, a sturdy steel framelock locks it. The overtravel stop is a smart feature. It prevents the framelock from stretching too much, so the lock remains perfect for years.
For a modern look, Burnley have given the Tuna two different grip zones. The presentation side is made of G10 and the locking side is made of stainless steel. In between, you'll find an aluminum backspacer, which contrasts nicely with the two parts. This is also reflected well in the pivot collar (ring around the hinge screw). As for the steel, they opted for 8Cr14MoV: simple, stainless, resistant and easy to sharpen. Perfect for such a knife.
