Series Cold Steels® Monolithic Ax and Tool® - Fixed knives

Lynn C. Thompson has developed a very special fascination for the simple functionality of forged knives. Its monobloc construction made from a solid steel piece sets new standards in terms of stability and durability, and as passionate about preparation/survival, hunting and love of nature, Lynn can only deny the robustness of these crude knives, reduced to essential bare, particularly seduces it. Without leather or wood sleeves that could tear, rot or break, and without spare parts that could break, be damaged or lost on the ground, these incredibly robust and resistant blades are easy to maintain and clean. They are also cheap enough to allow you to buy a second piece for your hunting bag or emergency survival bag.

Monolithic knives Cold Steels® of the Monolithic Ax and Tool® series are not cheap molded parts, but are forged from carbon steel 52100. In each model of the series, the solid steel body is highly heat treated from the tip of the sharp blade to the end of the sturdy handle. For a comfortable and safe grip, each knife is ergonomic in shape and equipped with deep grease in the handle area. Since these knives can be easily modified or customised, they are also perfectly adapted as "project knives". The handles can be installed later, archiving and engraving works or other interesting modifications for an individual design can be done as you wish.

Forged drop

This addition to the knife series Cold Steels® Drop Forged has a total length of 35.8 cm and a 24.1 cm long blade. The knife shares many features with the other models of the series, including the robust monobloc construction made of a single piece of steel, which offers incredible stability. However, unlike the other Drop Forged knives, it is equipped with distinctive inlays of deer horn imitation.

The flat blade has a moderately fine edge that has been sharpened as a razor. The blade tip is sharp enough to allow deep penetration and the centre of gravity is right in front of the handpiece, making the knife maniable and only slightly heavy on the blade.

Like the other Drop Forged series knives, it comes with a Secure-ExTM case that meets the quality standards of the American army and is equipped with a removable belt pass in Cordura.

52100 carbon steel
