The Gobi owes its name to the Great Chinese Desert, which covers a major festival in mainland China. The Gobi reflects the design elements of traditional knives of the desert dwellers who live there. Its sandblasted raised Trailpoint blade is suitable for filleting fish as well as skinning small game. The blade opens using a flipper and locks using a liner lock.

The knife features a rear spacer with an elongated lanyard eyelet, color matched to the edge of the blade axle screw. The steel liners are integrated into the nicely contoured G10 handles. Like almost all CJRB models, there is a deep pocket clip that can be used on both sides.
