San Mai® American Tanto Series
In the current blade industry, no one knows more about the Tanto than Cold Steel®. After all, Cold Steel® is probably the company that reinvented and popularized this type of knife in the early 1980s. Cold Steel® has invested millions of dollars in advertising, live events and videos to help convince the public of the many benefits of the Tanto knife. Cold Steel® has been producing Tantos for more than 35 years, and to date no custom manufacturer or tailor is able to produce a Tanto with only approximately the cutting and penetration power of a Cold Steel® Tanto.
In all Tantos of this series, the surface of the rectified blade longitudinally presents visible grinding lines and forms a beautiful contrast with the primary satin satin satin satin satin shiny matte. This highlights even more the unique aspect of Cold Steel®-Tanto and is an excellent example of the state of the art of grinding processes used by Cold Steel®.
In addition, these Tantos are equipped with the famous Kray-ExTM handle Cold Steels® with a flattened oval profile. The flat oval shape ensures a safe grip, because the handle nests in the palm of the hand and will not vacillera or spin, even for more difficult tasks that would have ruined knives of lower quality long ago. The use of Kray-ExTM for knives is another innovation of Cold Steel®. This material in the space age is simply unmatched. It does not tear or rot and is insensitive to the most adverse weather conditions.
Another feature to be mentioned here is the conical head of solid steel, which was designed by Lynn C. Thompson and can be used as an effective hammer in case of emergency.
Each Tanto knife in the San Mai® series is provided with a solid and high-quality Secure-Ex® sheath that will withstand years of intensive use and allows you to carry your knife with you ready to use and ready to use.
San Mai® is a three-layer, professionally manufactured stainless steel. A hard carbon steel is sandwiched between flexible spring steel with low carbon content. This ensures maximum edge retention with high lateral and sudden load resistance. San Mai® is a registered trademark Cold Steel® worldwide.
