Blade:

A VG MAX steel with a hardness of 61 (± 1) HRC is the main element of the entire blade up to the cutting edge. The 32 layers of damask steel give the knife its unrivaled anatomy, with a stable blade, both hard and soft thanks to the two components. Shun Classic blades have a symmetrical grind.

Sleeve:

The slim handle, made from durable Pakka wood, is presented in the traditional Japanese chestnut shape. The high-quality wood-nourishing resins make the material particularly robust and moisture-resistant. Its typical chestnut shape guarantees, thanks to a slight edge on the right side, a comfortable and firm grip when cutting. The continuous silk guarantees stability and balance.
