Tormek Japanese Waterstone has a gain of 4000 and gives a mirror-like glossy finish with virtually no visible scratches. Designed to obtain the smoothest surface possible, it removes very little material, and therefore cannot be used to form* a tool edge.

It excellently sharpens hand tools such as carving gouges, chisels, knives, plane blades and wood chisels; where a minimum of material must be removed and the resulting surface must be perfectly smooth.

Its unique composition gives a very long life to the grinding wheel. Given the fine grain of Japanese Waterstone, dehoning on the leather disc is not recommended.

The surface of the grinding wheel should be cleaned of metal particles approximately every minute with the thin side of the SP-650 grinding wheel preparer. Do not use the rough part of the wheel preparer on the Japanese Waterstone.

Suitable for Tormek T-8, Tormek T-7 and earlier models with a grinding wheel diameter of 250mm. For smaller Tormek models, check out the Japanese Waterstone Tormek SJ-200.

* Distinguish the shape and sharpening of the tool. By forming, you remove steel to achieve a shape and edge of your choice. Sharpening is just a touch-up of an existing shape to revive the edge.
