Chilean artist Rommy and her interpretation of nature
After the France, Amour and Escapade editions, discover the Nature edition!
An edition which highlights the work of three artists engaged in plant, animal or organic dimensions.
Discover the pocket knife No. 08 by Rommy González, a Chilean artist who decided to highlight mycelium and the mushrooms it produces. His drawings were transcribed onto the charm handle of the knife using the sublimation method. The 8.5 cm blade is made of stainless steel.
- Limited edition
- Blade length: 8.5 cm
Sleeve
- The decoration of this handle is made using a 3D sublimation process. This printing technique makes it possible to cover the entire surface of the handle, perfectly matching the contours, thus giving a unique character to the knife.
Martensitic stainless steel
- Hardness 55-57 HRC. Origin Europe.
- The stainless steel of OPINEL blades is an optimized grade to guarantee both high resistance to corrosion and high mechanical performance.
The blade offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear) which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before requiring resharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no special maintenance under ordinary use conditions, unlike carbon steel. However, it may encounter its limits when placed in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.).
Safety Ring
Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all closing knives from No. 06 onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety of transport).
