In the movie "Last Blood®", the Special Forces and Vietnam veteran wields a variety of different combat knives. More than any other film in the five-part action series (1982-2019). The two designers Dietmar Pohl and Stoil Manchev had the great privilege of using unusual and contemporary designs. Impressive staged by the main actor, they are already real classics.

A third concept sketch MOVIE KNIFE has been dormant in the very personal design archives of Dietmar Pohl for four years. Due to the extremely short deadline for filming in the fall of 2018, it was no longer possible to direct it and present it to the movie star and the production team.

In July 2022, however, Dietmar Pohl surprised the action hero on his 76th birthday with the first prototype of the MK-11, which can be both a tool and a weapon. In the fall of 2022, the legendary action series will celebrate its 40th anniversary (1982-2022). To mark this special occasion, Pohl Force is manufacturing the MK-11 concept in a numbered, strictly limited run of just 600 pieces worldwide.

MK-11 Last Blood® Concept - when Dietmar Pohl read the short-term script in 2018, it quickly became clear how badly the action hero wanted to fight by any means possible. It was to be a design that could be used to chop, stab, and strike with great force. The idea of such a special resource was well known to designer Dietmar Pohl since the arming of British commando troops in World War II. Because in his professional career he worked intensively with Colonel Rex Applegate, who let him participate in his expert knowledge. Applegate is still considered one of the most recognized experts in the field of hand-to-hand combat.

With the MK-11, Pohl Force takes the philosophy of this first commando weapon and brings it into the 21st century with contemporary materials and manufacturing processes. The 6 millimeter thick and very strong D2 steel with a Rockwell hardness of 59-60 HRC gives the 26.3 centimeter long blade exceptional cutting performance and durability.

To protect against glare and corrosion, the MK-11 also features a black PVD coating. With the handle CNC made from impact-resistant G-10, Pohl adopted the proven handle design of their MK-9 combat knife, but did away with the additional underhandle. As with the MK-8 and MK-9, the grip end is a precision milled striking element. In order to be able to transport the MK-11 optimally during use, a very elaborately manufactured sheath made of 2.5 mm thick Kydex® is included in the scope of delivery. The two thigh straps allow a comfortable fixation to the thigh. The MK-11 is equipped with a knotted lanyard to secure it by hand.

The blade of the MK-11 Last Blood Concept® is made from D2 cold work steel (1.2379), which has tremendous edge retention and requires some basic maintenance due to the 11.8% chromium content. Corrosion can occur if not maintained properly. As a preventive measure, the knife should be cleaned, dried and oiled regularly to prevent rust and corrosion. Especially when the knife comes into contact with unspecified substances or acidic liquids and is used near the sea.
