Tormek SJ-250 Japanese Waterstone — 4000 grit Japanese waterstone

The SJ-250 Japanese Waterstone is a very fine finishing stone designed to produce a polished, near-mirror bevel with minimal material removal. Its 4000 grit is particularly suitable for knives, scissors, carving tools, plane irons and chisels.

For edge finishing

The SJ-250 is not intended for shaping or repairing a heavily damaged edge. Establish the desired edge geometry first with a suitable grindstone, then use the SJ-250 for finishing.

Maintenance

Clean the surface regularly using the fine side of the SP-650 or the abrasive side of a sponge. Never use the coarse side of the SP-650 on the Japanese Waterstone, as it can damage the stone. After correct finishing on the SJ-250, honing on the leather wheel is generally not necessary.
