The Shun Classic series combines the centuries-old art of forging Japanese samurai swords with modern and sophisticated manufacturing processes of our time. We thus obtain a series of damask knives of an extremely high level of quality, made in the smallest details and with a very sharp blade. The knives are therefore perfectly suited for professional use. Shun Classic blades look very good due to their semi-gloss pattern, characteristic of 32-layer damask steel. Combined with the elegant and thin tapered handle made of black Pakka wood, an aesthetic concept is obtained that meets the basic requirements in terms of quality and function.

A VG MAX steel with a hardness of 61 (± 1) HRC is the main element of the entire blade up to the cutting edge. The 32 layers of damask steel give the knife its unrivaled anatomy, with a stable blade that is both hard and soft thanks to the two components. Shun Classic blades have a symmetrical grind.

The thin handle, made of durable Pakka wood, is presented in the traditional Japanese chestnut shape. The high-quality wood nourishing resins make the material particularly robust and moisture resistant. Its typical chestnut shape guarantees, thanks to a slight stop on the right side, a comfortable and firm grip when cutting. The continuous tang guarantees stability and balance.
