The TT-100 Turning Tool Positioner is the key to effective sharpening of turning gouges and woodworking chisels.

It allows you to create and identically reproduce the cutting angle on your profiling and digging gouges, as well as your flat and oval wood chisels with a long or curved edge.

The TT-100 works in conjunction with the SVD-186 gouge device and the SVS-50 Multi device.

By knowing your exact profiles, you'll be able to reproduce them in seconds and radically speed up your sharpening process.

The TTS-100 positioner operates independently of the wheel diameter.

You will always get exactly the same cutting angle, even if the wheel becomes smaller in diameter.

It also works well when you adjust the angle of the cutting edge on the leather honing disc.

Three factors determine the shape of sharpening

There are three factors that determine the shape of a gouge or chisel.

By checking and repeating them each time you sharpen, you will obtain an exact replica of the edge shape and angle. This will save you time and tool steel, and perhaps most importantly, you can be sure that your tools still work the same way on the lathe, after each sharpening.

These three factors are:

1. Device setting (JS)
2. The protuberance of the tool in the device (P)
3. The distance to the grinding wheel (hole A or B)

Select your shape

In the Tormek selection table you can choose from widespread profiles the one that best suits yourself and in turn check it out below. You can of course create your own combination, if you wish. The most common profiles are numbered and indicated on the positioner.

A tool can have an infinite number of combinations of profiles and cutting angles, a new tool has a more or less different profile compared to the profiles present in this table. You must first format your tool to establish its geometry. Subsequent sharpenings will then be an easy task and completed in less than a minute.

Keep the profile you selected and do not replace it with another. You will then take full advantage of the Tormek TTS-100 positioner, as you can instantly create an exact replica of this profile every time. This will make your sharpening more efficient, giving you more time to turn.
