This is an alternative method of refinement that has made much progress in recent times. On a felt disc (speed: about 1500 laps), a fine layer of abrasive paste is laid. The tool is vigorously applied for a few seconds with the bevel against the disc. Thanks to the heat that emerges, the paste melts and, in the aftermath, the bevel is sealed like a mirror.
