The Otter company was founded around 1840 in a small “Kotten” – a traditional water-powered grinding workshop – at the Königsmühle in Solingen.
Its name comes from the fish otters that lived on the banks of streams and rivers in the “Bergisches Land” region at that time. These decorate the products like the company logo. Pocket knives and fixed blade knives are made in Solingen in the traditional way.
Even today, pocket knives and fixed blade knives are still manufactured and sharpened by hand with the greatest care. The assortment includes knives for hobby, home, garden and hunting.
